If nothing ever changed, there'd be no butterflies.
As a professional Counsellor, I follow ethics and guidelines set out by my professional body, CAPA (Counsellors and Psychotherapists Association of New South Wales) and PACFA. This requires me to outline to you, the manner in which I work.
The Counselling I perform is usually based on a person-centred, humanistic approach. This means I will work with you to attain a best outcome for your situation. Generally, counselling is not advice giving, I like to think of it as a helping hand. Other skills I may use are solution-focused, looking at your cultural perspective, and looking at your situation from both an individual and a system view point.
If I cannot help you at any point of your counselling, I am required to refer you to any other professional that can assist you further. This is especially important for Clinical Depression and other medical conditions that may require a medical or psychiatric diagnosis.
I seek professional Clinical Supervision for my work as a Counsellor and as such may have a need to discuss your case. This is an important aspect of maintaining professionalism within the Counselling field.
My fees are:
$90 for Couple and Individual Counselling sessions
$110 per session for Family and Couples Counselling
$120 for Clinical Supervision
All costs will be advised upfront.
All counselling sessions generally run fifty minutes to one hour.
24 hours notice is required for any cancellations of appointments, otherwise 50% of the counselling fee will be charged.
